Tuy nhiên, khi mắc bệnh này tỷ lệ tử vong cao, tiên lượng bệnh rất xấu, để lại nhiều di chứng nặng nề. Hiện nay, chưa có phương pháp can thiệp nào mang lại hiệu quả điều trị cao. Do vậy, “Nghiên cứu hiệu quả điều trị u thân não bằng phương pháp xạ phẫu dao gamma quay” là đề tài mới, cấp bách.. - Ứng dụng xạ phẫu bằng dao gamma quay là một phương pháp can thiệp, sử dụng thiết bị hiện đại điều trị cho u thần kinh đệm bậc thấp thân não nằm ở vị trí sâu, phức tạp mà phẫu thuật mổ mở khó tiếp cận được. Kết quả sau xạ phẫu đã mang lại giá trị cao, có độ tin cậy. Đề tài cũng cung cấp những thông tin về cái nhìn khả quan của bệnh khi ứng dụng phương pháp can thiệp xạ phẫu. Kết quả nghiên cứu nêu lên được mối liên quan giữa thời gian sống thêm với nhóm tuổi, giới, cấu trúc u, kích thước u, liều xạ phẫu…. - Sinh thiết hay phẫu thuật lấy u xét nghiệm mô bệnh học khó khăn nên việc chẩn đoán xác định phải dựa vào phương tiện chẩn đoán hình ảnh. SUMMARY OF NEW CONCLUSIONS. OF PHD THESIS. New conclusions of the thesis:. - Low grade glioma is a relatively rare central nervous disease. However, its mortality is quite hight with poor prognosis and it leads to severe morbidity. Currently, there is not any invasive method which bring good outcomes for this disease. Therefore, the research “Study the efficacy of Rotating Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (RGKR) in the treatment of brainstem tumors at Bach Mai hospital” is novel and in urgent need.. - The application of rotating gamma knife is a high precision and high technique invasive method to treat the brainstem low grade tumors which locate deep inside the brain, and it is very difficult for the surgeon to approach the tumor safely. The results after radiosurgery for these patients were valueable and trusthful. The study also brought information which could be positive future for this disease when using the radiosurgery. The results stated the relationship between the survival time and age groups, gender, tumor structures, size of tumors and radiosugery doses …. - Biopsy or open surgery to achieve the tumor tissue for histopathological tests are difficult so the diagnosis had to be based on the diagnostic imaging. The study also stated the role of MRI and MRS in the diagnosis of low grade gliomas with high reliability.. - The knowledge was plentiful, the method is detailed and comprehensive with early and long term follow up.
