Abstract: Những kết luận mới của luận án:.
New conclusions of thesis:. 1.Smile morphological features of the Kinh community aged 18-25:. - Most of the horizontal and vertical dimensions of men are higher than those of women, except for the height of the upper lip curve, but the difference is not statistically significant with p>0.05.. - Smiles among women in the research community are softer with more upward upper lip curves, larger upper lip height, less lower teeth exposure, greater ratios of high smile lines, lower ratios of low smile lines, compared to men.. - The ratio of smiling height/smile width (SH/SW) in men (0.19) is greater than that in women (0.17) with statistically significant differences (p<0.05).. - The ratio of high smile line is 22.08%, of which the proportion for women is greater than that for men, however the difference is not statistically significant. Flat and parallel smile arcs account for the majority (58.55% and 46.0%), with no difference between men and women. The majority of subjects have upward upper lip curves (64.17%), of which the number for females are higher than for males, showing thath the difference is statistically significant. Smiles that do not reveal to the upper first molars are the most common (90.92%), with no difference between men and women.. 2.Developing standards of harmonious smile for the Kinh people:. Harmonious smiles are uncommon in the community at a ratio of 27.83%, of which the figure for males (30.5%) is higher than for females (25.17%).. A smile that is considered harmonious must meet the standards of society (according to qualitative research) and scientific standards (according to qualitative research):Natural, balanced smile. No severe occlusal defect, no or less middle line deviation (less than 2 mm).Teeth are regular, white, clean. The size and shape of the teeth are commensurate with the face. No buck teeth or sparse teeth (the majority do not like crooked teeth). Wide smiley mouth, exposing around 8-10 teeth. The mouth when smiling has a small smile height compared to the width of the mouth when smiling, which is considered more harmonious. The medium smile line is considered the most beautiful, accepting the slight exposure of attached gums (around 1-2mm), the gums need to be pink and healthy. The smile arc is parallel. The labial comissures are pulled to the sides and upwards. If there is dimple on one side of the cheek, it will be considered beautiful and thus, making the smile softer. The upper lip curve is upward or straight. No exposure of the upper first molars. No exposure of lower teeth. The upper lip is thick enough. The demand for aesthetics and beauty is increasing, so the aesthetic criteria for smiles are growing and changing over time accordingly.
